Recipe: Cheesy Bread

This is a recipe from one of the blog I love to follow Frugal Girl. I’ve just “adapted it” except all I’ve done is make just 1 loaf since she’s baking for 6 and I’m merely baking for 2.

Cheesy Bread
Serves 6
  1. 1.5 to 2 cups all-purpose flour
  2. 1 tablespoons sugar
  3. 1 1/8 teaspoons yeast
  4. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/2 cup water
  6. 1/6 cup milk
  7. 3 ounces cheddar cheese
  1. In a bowl combine half the flour with the sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Heat water and milk to 120 degrees F, and add to the flour mix. Beat for 3 minutes, then add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  3. Turn out onto a floured surface and knead in cheese.
  4. Ball the dough up, cover and let rise an hour, or until doubled.
  5. Punch dough down and divide into 3 pieces and roll each piece into a rope.
  6. Braid three ropes together and place on a greased baking sheet then let rise until doubled, 30-45 minutes.
  7. Bake at 350 degree for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
