Recipe: Cinnamon-Sugar Doughnut Holes

When people want a quick dessert they reach for cookies but these doughnut holes can be made in just about 20 minutes and they’re sure to impress because who makes doughnuts these days?

Ingredients
  1. 125g flour
  2. 65g sugar
  3. 10g baking powder
  4. 5g salt
  5. 3g cinnamon
  6. 2g ginger
  7. 25g oil
  8. 1 egg
  9. 115ml milk
Coating
  1. 100g sugar
  2. 5g cinnamon
Instructions
  1. Heat 6cm of oil in a dutch oven/cast iron pan to 190°C.
  2. Mix together all batter ingredients in one bowl, adding more flour or milk to make a paste-like consistency.
  3. In a separate bowl mix the coating and set aside.
  4. Use a small scoop to drop teaspoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, 5 to 6 at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the oil.
  5. Fry for about 60-90 seconds on each side until browned then drain on a paper towel until cool enough to touch.
  6. Roll the warm doughnuts in the sugar and cinnamon mixture until coated.
Notes
  1. Mix up the coatings or flavors inside the doughnut to personalize them to your liking!
