Recipe: Soft Rye Rolls

These rye rolls aren’t exactly what I was expecting but they still were bread and thus, they were pretty good. Expect some more rye recipes in the future though!

Ingredients
  1. 150g rye flour
  2. 180g whole wheat flour
  3. 10g dry yeast
  4. 6g sugar
  5. 6g salt
  6. 450ml water, warmed
Instructions
  1. In a large bowl mix together by hand (or in a stand mixer) the rye flour, whole wheat flour, yeast, sugar and salt and mix them together.
  2. Add the water and combine to form a soft dough. Add more flour if the dough is sticky.
  3. Shape and divide the dough in to roll sized balls (about 6-10 of them)
  4. Cover the rolls with a clean kitchen towel and let them rest in a warm place for about 45 minutes until they rise.
  5. Cut an X on the top of each bun.
  6. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake rolls for 18-25 minutes until hollow sounding when tapped.
